Green coffee is the beans of ordinary coffee, the processing of which has been completed before the roasting process. In these grains, the pyrolysis process has not yet taken place, so they do not have such flavor and aroma. However, the caffeine content does not change. Such coffee differs from black in color - it is much lighter. That's where the name comes from, as some coffee varieties have a slight green tint. Unroasted green coffee's taste is much milder, more acidic and almost completely devoid of bitterness.
And why is it so unusual? Well, somewhat by accident, it turned out that green coffee contains a great deal of chlorogenic acid (ACG), which is a phenolic acid. This compound is an important part of plant metabolism, and in addition has been shown to be a very potent antioxidant. It also has strong antibacterial properties.
However, it is not chlorogenic acid alone that is so important here. As Asian researchers discovered, far more important were the effects of its combination with caffeine. The combination of caffeine and chlorogenic acid in green coffee has a very interesting effect - it reduce quite significantly the absorption of sugar from food and reduce the possibility of storing assimilated sugar in the body, and thus inhibit the formation of body fat. By regularly consuming such coffee, we can reduce body fat by about 15-30%. Such a large scatter is due to several different observations that indicated varying degrees of fat loss. Overall, however, the observations showed that there was a significant reduction in body fat, compared to the control group, which was getting a placebo.

Method of use - two ways:
- Pour 10g (three teaspoons) into a cup. Then pour hot water over it (preferably at temp. 90°C). Wait no less than 5 minutes, and then drink the infusion. Green coffee grounds will remain at the bottom. You can add sweetener or a tablespoon of honey to the infusion to improve the taste. The taste of the infusion is basically neutral, a little tart very reminiscent of the taste of green tea.
